Using Object 416 in Team Battles

Many teams are still trying to find good tanks for their lineups in the new Team Battle mode. Why don’t give the Object 416 a try?

416 a

The Obj. 416 is a good option. It has phenomenal firepower, it has the 100 mm M-63, a T-54 gun at Tier 8 so it has high damage per shot, a massive 320. Penetration with AP is a low 201mm, but the HEAT is a steel melting 330mm. Then get a medium that is able to destroy a heavy tank in clash in no time. The gun is also is accurate with a dispersion of 0.37 at 100m. You can easily shoot enemy tanks while moving at full speed. Lets not forget the crazy fast reload of 7.5 rounds per minute.

416 b

Obj. 416 has a really low profile, Due to its small size it has excellent camouflage almost as good as light tanks when firing which makes him a more difficult target than most of the other Tier 8 vehicles.

416 C

But there are no perfect tanks in World of tanks, the downside to this tank it has limited turret rotation, so you can’t shoot back at enemies while retreating. Also, it has poor gun depression so it’s really tricky to attack tanks that are positioned lower than you. It has soft armor so you have to be careful choosing your position and know the maps well.

416

The Obj. 416 shows its true power on some of open maps like Prokhorovka/Fiery Salient, Cliff and Steepes.

For example in Prokhorovka, if the other team is going to play aggressively, you can take the bushes from the North in B2 you can go here and shoot enemy tanks in the middle of the map. Your high penetration allows you to deal damage to even to some of the toughest turrets. You will stay unspotted thanks to the bushes all around you.

shot_108

At the South in K2-K3 is another good position, allowing you to damage scouting enemy light tanks. From here it allows you to shoot enemy tanks like rabbits whilst staying hidden and safe.

416 D

Just aim well and eating away their hit points. Then you’ll become a true horror for the enemy. However make sure your teammates do not allow the enemy to get too close: when spotted, you can be easily destroyed. Try to stay alive, shoot a lot and your DPM will bring your team a good advantage. Stay close with your teammates.

The Obj. 416 is a good tank. Especially effective on open maps and it has unique uses on city maps. Master it! Bring forth victory to your team. Plus, it’s a fun tank to own and pwn people.

kv5

Despite all negative things most people say about this tank I find this one of the best credit makers in the game and it’s fun to bounce tons of shots with this tank. Its just sad that most KV5 commanders don’t know how to use this tank thus giving this tank a bad rep.

The Kv5 suffers from 2 main things. Low penetration gun and a huge and obvious weak spot on its frontal armor. Both problem can be solved by practice and the right tactics. For its low penetration gun it’s a must to know each and every tank’s weak spots and bring some gold rounds just in case of emergency. The R2D2 weak  spot on this tank is a big problem if you don’t know how to hide it for the newbies of this tank try to keep your distance so that they’ll have a hard time aiming your R2D2 and another effective way to use this tank is by side scraping it has 150mm of armor on its side so use it well. Ramming is a fun thing to do in this tank 100+ tons of steel charging… boom! 500+ damage..

The largest weakpoint of the KV5  “R2D2” or “The Tumor”. Poor radioman.

For the credit earning of this steel monstrosity is high good game give you at least 80-110k of creds bad games 40-60k of creds. Highest Ive earned on this tank is around 160k creds. Matchmaking on this tank is very good you only see t8 and t9 just don’t platoon with tanks of higher match making.

Overall this is a must have tank in your garage. But this only appears on special sales in the premium shop, so always get ready to swipe that card when this bad boy goes on sale.

AMX Chasseur de chars

 fcm ddd

Pros:
  • Powerful gun: accurate, fast-firing and aiming, high-penetrating, high shell velocity
  • Perfect top speed and amazing acceleration; thanks to the ridiculously powerful engine
  • Great gun depression at 10 degrees; effective in hull-down
  • High ammunition count
  • Good credit-making ability for its price
Cons:
  • Non-existent armour
  • Average camo values and huge size for a medium; as big as a Maus.
  • Traverse feels a bit sluggish compared to the speed and acceleration of the tank
  • Frequent ammo rack damage, however it rarely explodes when hit
  • No preferential matchmaking; however, it’s still rarely seen in tier IX/X matches

fcm ddddd

The AMX Chasseur de chars or more commonly known as the “CDC” is a strange tank. its extremely large for a medium tank, armor made from the tank’s blueprint itself (that’s why its blue LOL), but it is fast! Faster than any other medium tank save for the Batchat, it has an amazing gun depression, gun handling, damage of 240 per shot every 6 second is amazing, with AP penetration of 212, this can clearly cut through any tank in its tier. The premium ammo in this troll is APCR with a penetration value of 259mm, which can penetrate a tier 10 when carefully aimed.

The first thing you’ll notice with the CDC is that its crazy big! how can you hide something this big in the battlefield? play it like a heavy? No. Just like the panther 88 or the FCM50T this tank is great in support roles. With its amazing gun depression it can peek-a-BOOM the enemy without exposing its large hull. Using the accuracy and high rate of fire, you can effectively snipe enemy from a far and with its unmatched speed, save for some lights and the batchat, this can move about the battlefield like a ballerina spreading death and chaos wherever he goes. Oh the hull of this tank, it has no armor, its large and the ammo rack is easily damaged when hit from the sides but ammo rack explosions are rare. With that in mind its is advisable to use the Wet Ammo Rack equipment or just avoid getting hit in the hull too often.

is3 shot_052

On good games I usually Net around 60-80k credits, a combination of cheap repair and cheap ammo.

The CDC is a great tank, even if you’re not a French tank commander this tank will teach you to be cautious. This is easily going to be a favorite among the premium tanks. At 7450 gold this is a bargain. Grab it when you can.

Basic Team Battle Lineups

World of Tanks new 7/54 format make players to think differently about their tanks. There are other considerations to be made and these decisions are game-changing. Tanks like the AMX 50 100 have been pushed out on open maps in favor of more mobile and dangerous light tanks like the T54 Lightweight. This article hopes to answer where tanks fit in the new format and where we go from here.

IS+Tiger

On city maps, IS-3 and AMX 50 100 in Tier 8 Heavy tanks are still the best choice. On Tier 7 you probably want to bring IS-2 Berlin and T29. On Tier 6 you might want to get the Heavy Tank No. VI or Japanese Tiger I. The Japanese Tiger brings hit points and a decent gun, and it can deal plenty of damage in the right hands, but its role is to soak damage. The IS-2 Berlin is probably the strongest choice for a Tier 7 right now. It can be played much like an IS-3, with strong alpha damage, but it can be somewhat soft. The T29 fills a role as a hull down defender with nearly the same damage potential as its big brother, the T32.

SPIC+LTTB

Open maps have always had a flexibility in tank choices nowadays. Back in the days of 7/42 players uses AMX 13 90 and Pershing. Now teams are getting T-54 Lightweight and RU 251 for Tier 8, and LTTB and the latest addition to the game Spähpanzer SP I C on Tier 7. LTTB isn’t a keen choice for tank commanders in the league, but during the Grand Finals 2015 it prove itself to be quite effective especially in a Light tank brawl. Spähpanzer SP I C is a nasty tank. Its 90mm 3 shot auto loader gun have 2nd best penetration and alpha for AP in tier 7 and its small size and good camo rating makes it a good passive Scout.

FV304+GWP

Artillery has seen some play in the league nowadays. Artillery has either been able to do enough damage to help decide the fights or it has been wholly ineffective. But now many teams are using artillery with success. Most common are FV304 and M44, and sometimes in Tier 7 the GW Panther if the commander is audacious enough to add it into their line-up. FV304 is a safe bet. Its high gun arc really helps in certain situations.

The hunt for the perfect lineup remains, however watching from matches in the WGL Asia, it’s clear that teams are still searching for the best strategies and tanks in 7/54.

Introduction to 7/54 Team Battle Mode

TeamBTL-1

Now we will talk about 7/54 Team Battles, it is the new battle format for the World of Tanks Wargaming League all over the world. Since Patch 9.4 the changes in the Team Battle mode has been fleshed out with more features. It is now called Attack/Defense, it’s more like an Assault Mode. To make it even, the defending team has to protect two bases at the same time. Base capture points are counted separately. To win, you have to capture just one base.

The amount of tier points is 54. This enable the team to create more specialized lineups. You can choose in 2 sets of vehicle line-ups. 5x Tier 8’s and 2x Tier 7’s or 6x Tier 8’s and 1x Tier 6.

TeamBTL-2

The Patch 9.7 introduced the new Ranked and Unranked Battles mode for Team Battles. In Ranked Battle Mode the teams are matched depending on their rating. This rating is not personal, but applies to the team as the whole. Opponent teams will be roughly equal in strength. Perform well and receive unique marks of distinction, credits and Ranked Points.

TeamBTL-3

A special matchmaker seeks an opponent based on your rating. Once a suitable opponent is found, you are redirected to the spawn screen. You can see the map for the upcoming battle and the spawn positions of the teams. You have given enough time so players can change their vehicle. If all players in the team have confirmed that they are ready, they enter the battle in the vehicles they have chosen.

TeamBTL-4

But you want a regular, Unranked Team Battle, you can press the “Go to Unranked Battles” button to switch at any time. 7 players is enough to play Ranked Battles and the maximum of 12 players in a team. If there are fewer than 7 players in a team, you can always ask some other players to fill spots on your team. Any player who is not a member of the Permanent Team is called a Legionnaire, but then the team can only play Unranked Battles. Next time we will discuss what tanks that is viable to use in Team Battles.

The Art of the Auto Aim

Auto aiming in world of tanks is a feature in the game that automatically aims on the enemy tank but because of the game mechanics you cannot just auto aim on your enemy tank and just win the game. This article will teach you how to use, when to use and when not to use the auto aim.
To activate auto aim all you have to do is hoveron to your enemy tank and press right click, your crew member will say “target acquired” indicating that you’re locked on. When you are locked on to a tank your crosshair will stick to a target and your turret will be out of your control until auto aim is deactivated.Right clicking anything or anywhere else other than your targeted tank will deactivate auto aim, you’re crewmember will say “target lost” letting you know it’s deactivated. Auto aim also deactivates when the tank that you locked on get out of vision.

auto aim ddddd

When to use:

  • On weak armored tanks: If you are sure that your gun has enough penetration to damage the enemy tank press right click and gun that tank down. Best tanks to do it on are artillery’s, light tanks, most French and Japanese tanks, tank side and back armors.
  • Running Away: have you ever been in a situation where there are 5 tanks about to surround you and your only option is to run away? Well the best thing to do is auto aim one of the tanks chasing you run away and spam your left clicks. This will allow you to concentrate on where you are running to and also give you a chance to bounce some shots because the heavily armored part of you turret is facing the enemy.

shot_063

  • Turret lock: The game still has the bug where your turret gets delayed when you are about to peek a corner. Auto aiming the enemy tank nullifies that bug.

auto aim ddd

  • Moving: moving shots are still very RNG based so if you are moving and want to hit a target I find it more efficient to auto aim first before shooting because it automatically aims at the middle of the tank. This also lets you focus more on where you are driving.

When not to use:

  • Heavily armored tanks: Since auto aim aims at the center of the tank it doesn’t aim at the tanks weakest spot so against heavily armored tanks you will most likely bounce on the target.
  • Sniping- auto aim doesn’t lead on targets so on moving targets that are more than 75m away it would be best to not auto aim or you will just miss.

shot_087

  • Terrain with a lot of obstacles: auto aim also ignores maps with a lot of obstacles. So against hull downed tanks don’t bother auto aiming because you will hit the ground.

AUTO AIM

Overall auto aim is a feature in the game that is worth using as long as you know when and when not to use it. Manual aiming is still superior but it wouldn’t hurt adding auto aim into your game.

What do you guys think of the auto aim? Comment below and give us your feedback.

The Defensive Left and Right Click

Ever been caught these sticky situation where your only option is to retreat. Well learning to use your left and right clicks defensively may help you get away or keep you alive long enough for your allies to help.

The Left Click:

  • Tracking enemy tanks: this is very obvious tracking can stop a tank from shooting you. With the right angles your enemy might not have enough depression or have peeked enough to take the last shot on you. If you are lucky you can just permanently track your enemy allowing your teammates snipe him down turning defense into offense.

shot_072

  • Not shooting: Some players are just bad,I have been in multiple situations where it’s me versus 3 other enemy tanks, knowing that I am outnumbered timing your shot can save your life. Sometimes if you just don’t shoot the first tank that peeks stops the other 2 tanks from peeking because they are too afraid of taking any damage. If you’re lucky you might be able to retreat to better cover. On the other hand if you shoot they suddenly rush you down.

The Right Click:

  • Holding right click: crossing sniping maps like Steppes, Prokhorovka ,Malinova, etc.. by simply facing your turret to the area that you most likely think snipers will be and holding right click will give you a higher chance of bouncing enemy shots.

shot_071

  • Auto aiming: this topic was touch upon on my previous article. In situations where you are surrounded by multiple tanks and your only option is to retreat simply right click an enemy tank and run away. This will give you a higher chance to bounce shots because the part of you turret that has the most armor will be facing your enemy. It will also let you concentrate more on your driving preventing you from hitting houses and rocks or jumping of cliffs and slopes.

Hopefully these simple left and right click tricks can help increase your survival rate thus making you a bigger impact in game.

How else can you use the lift and right click defensively? Comment below and give us your feedback.

Premium tank shopping guide 3: The French FCM 50T

fcm

PROS:

• High top speed
• Good acceleration
• Good penetration
• High rate of fire
• Cheap ammo
• Very fast hull and turret traverse
• Decent accuracy
• Good matchmaking Tier 8-9

CONS:

• Overpriced at 11,900 gold
• Practically no armor(there are some chance bounces)
• Crew and Modules are easily damaged
• Low alpha
• Large silhouette

shot_043

FCM d

Recommended Equipment are as follows:

  • Gun Rammer
  • Enhanced Gun laying drive
  • Wet ammo rack/coated optics/ventilations (the thirds slot is to your personal preference and playstyle)

The FCM 50T is a French heavy tank that’s fast and nimble for a heavy, it is best played as a medium tank capturing key locations on the map or supporting the “real” heavies on your team. The gun has OK average damage of 240 and a penetration of 212, that can pen most tier 8 and tier 9 tanks. good accuracy and aim time.

When I first played my FCM I kept charging into battle like my Type59 which is wrong, it is not a good brawler, it lacks armor for the chance bounces plus this tank has a large silhouette. Its best that you move as a support for heavies, flank, find a good position where you can support the main push while keeping yourself near cover or better yet concealed. Thanks to the FCM 50t’s top speed of 51kph and power to weight ratio of 18.44, you can easily go back to the base and defend the would be attackers from a safe distance.

Average credit earning on a good game is 40-80k and on a bad its around 40-50k.
This is a good tank if you love the French HT line, any tank commander that knows the importance of support will quickly love this tank and is in need for credits and crew training and this is the best or only bet for the French, but if your planning to buy a premium tank just for the credits I would not recommend this tank, there are cheaper and better premium tanks.

Premium tank shopping guide: USSR T-54 First Prototype

684x280_rrHeZBi
Pros:
  • Low profile
  • Thick, well-sloped hull armor
  • Good Turret armor
  • Above average DPM
  • APCR round
  • Relatively cheap compared to other Tier 8 premium tanks
Cons:
  • Very low ammo capacity (34 rounds), just like the Type 59
  • Poor acceleration and top speed
  • Poor reverse speed
  • low HP
  • Mediocre gun depression
  • Low penetration gun (same as other Tier 8 medium tanks)

shot_047

t54

The T-54 First Prototype, is basically an up armored T-44 medium tank. It has better frontal armor compared to the T-44, 120mm for the T-54 first prototype and 90mm for the T-44. Turret armor the T-54 first prototype is better than the T-44, 180mm and 120mm respectively. The frontal armor of the T-54 First Prototype is fantastic for the class/tier, and is heavy-level armor. The upper glacis is 120mm sloped at 60 degrees, giving you 240mm effective armor.  The lower glacis is sloped at 45 degrees, giving you 170mm effective armor. The turret is well armored and the cupola is small and difficult to snipe.  The closer you get to your enemies (or at a lower elevation than them), the more you reduce your more vulnerable lower glacis.

Despite its great armor, the offensive capabilities of this tank are limited; Having only 175mm of penetration on its AP shells makes it almost impossible to penetrate higher tier opponents frontally, and even sometimes struggling against the side armors of some vehicles. Thankfully, its Damage Per Minute is slightly above average, and its APCR shell has a decent penetration of 235mm, which can frontally penetrate most weak spots and side armor. Additionally, its premium vehicle status can help offset the credit cost of premium shells. It should be noted that this tank can only carry a total of 34 shells, so running out of ammunition is a possibility. The gun has poor accuracy and dispersion as well, so it is best to engage enemies in medium to close quarter brawls to negate the poor accuracy.

Among the other Tier VIII premium medium tanks, the T-54 first prototype is rather sluggish, has a low top speed and horrid reverse speed. But don’t let this deter you, the T-54 first prototype is made to stop an advance. Its speed is just enough to run behind cover, around corners and quickly change the angle of your hull for those surprise bounces. Choose the conflict zone carefully, support and flank the enemy. Remember once committed to that zone, the T-54 first prototype cannot change flank quick enough, so choose wisely.

The lack of preferential matchmaking makes this tank a bit tricky compared to the Type 59 and T-34-3. When you’re on top , a tier VIII battle, you can bully lower tier tanks and hunt down the same tier tanks,.Just be careful of the Tank Destroyers, they can see and shoot you first long before you can spot them. When engaging in tier IX and X battles, support your high tier tanks, try and kills the scouts that go for your SPG and survive as long as possible. During the end phase of the match when you’re still alive, this is your time to shine and hunt down tanks with low HP and distracted tanks.

As for credit earning, I can get an average of 70-80k on 2,000 damage.

Final thoughts on this tank. The T-54 first prototype is a good tank on paper and on the battlefield, a well rounded warrior. but there are other option if you are buying your first premium tank, cheaper and better tanks. But if you need a tank that can earn credits and grind the crew of your Russian medium tanks, this is the tank you need and deserve!

The lowe is a tier 8 German heavy tank. This best works as a sniper and tank support , use its high accuracy and high shell velocity to your advantage and with its high penetration gun helps in long range encounters.

Untitled-2

loweee

SNIPE and SUPPORT that’s the main role of the Lowe.At the start of the battle, choose a side to provide support or a position that will give you great cover and firing opportunities, since the Lowe is sLowe you only get the choose once and you are fully commited to that line. Keep your distance from enemy tanks and snipe them down, brawling with this tank is a last resort you have a slow turret and hull traverse not to mention a pretty long aim time  and with little or no armor compared to other tier 8 counterparts. Sidescrapping and Hulldowns are a very viable strategy on the Lowe. When facing tower tier tanks, angle your tank for those lovely DINGS!

Since the 8.5 update premium consumables can be bought for creds I would recommend loading an automatic fire extinguisher on this tank. Remember the lowes asset is its amazing gun so use it to its full potential.

This is a must have for German tank commanders, but if you didn’t even touch the German tech tree don’t bother with the lowe there are other options for you.
